Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is an innovative treatment that stimulates the body’s natural healing process using the patient’s own biology to promote accelerated healing.

What is PRP:

PRP definition - plasma with a platelet concentration higher than the platelet concentration found in healthy whole blood (accepted as being at least 3 x baseline concentration)

PRP helps to deliver an abundance of growth factors that stimulate the body’s natural healing response. This helps you to achieve total rejuvenation.

In dermatology and cosmetic medicine, PRP has been used to treat acne, scarring, skin rejuvenation and tightening around the eyes (for sun damaged and ageing skin and fine lines) and in the following areas: cheeks and midface, jawline and submalar regions, back of hands, decolletage, and others (eg, knees, elbows, and upper arms, as well as for stretch marks.

In hair restoration, PRP is injected into the scalp. The application of PRP causes miniaturized hair follicles to become healthier and larger, producing more robust hair growth. PRP activates follicular progenitor cells (adult stem cells) and promotes angiogenesis and localised cell growth. Effective for both male and female pattern hair loss.

PRP therapy involves taking a small sample (15 - 30 mL) of the patient’s blood, as is done for a standard blood test, and then utilising a special device: At JT Cosmetic Boutique, we use Alocuro PRO-PRP. to concentrate the platelets from the whole blood sample, so that a high number of patient’s own platelets can be injected directly to the injured tissue.

While PRP may sound like something straight out of a science-fiction novel, some patients are finding that PRP can:

  • Reduce wrinkles

  • Plump up sagging skin

  • Get rid of deep creases

  • Improve one’s complexion

  • Diminish acne scars

  • Promote Hair Growth
